The Bushcraft School
Our Mission: To Reconnect Everyone with the Natural World
We believe that spending time outdoors, learning practical skills and developing a deeper understanding of the natural world can have a lasting impact on people of all ages.
Our mission is simple: to reconnect everyone with the natural world — giving children and educators the opportunity to learn, explore, create and grow through meaningful outdoor experiences.
Bringing Learning to Life Through the Great Outdoors
The Bushcraft School provides schools with an affordable, accessible and progressive approach to outdoor learning.
Our school membership gives educators everything they need to introduce high-quality bushcraft education into the school year — including fully planned lessons, progressive skills development, National Curriculum links, educator training, an online learning portal and ongoing support.
We believe every child should have the opportunity to learn outdoors, develop practical skills and experience the benefits of connecting with nature.
What We Offer
- A Full Academic Year of Learning – A complete programme of progressive bushcraft lessons, planned and ready to deliver.
- Fully Planned Lessons – Each lesson is prepared for you, with clear learning objectives, outcomes, equipment requirements and guidance for delivery.
- Educator Training – We train your educators to confidently deliver the programme themselves, giving them the practical skills, knowledge and confidence they need to lead engaging outdoor lessons.
- Progressive Skills Development – Children build on their knowledge and abilities as they progress, with increasingly in-depth and advanced bushcraft skills introduced over time.
- National Curriculum Links – Lessons are designed to complement the National Curriculum, connecting practical outdoor learning with subjects including Science, Geography, History, Art & Design and Design & Technology.
- Online Learning Portal – Access lesson plans, teaching resources, training materials and supporting documentation whenever you need them.
- Awards & Recognition – Our progressive awards scheme gives pupils clear goals to work towards and celebrates their achievements.
- Ongoing Support – We don’t simply hand you a programme and leave you to it. Our membership is designed as an ongoing partnership between The Bushcraft School and your school.
- Affordable & Accessible – We’ve designed our membership to make high-quality bushcraft education accessible to schools without the cost and complexity traditionally associated with outdoor education.
We Train Your Educators
One of the key features of The Bushcraft School membership is that we train your own educators to deliver the programme.
This means your school can develop its own in-house bushcraft capability, allowing outdoor learning to become a regular part of school life rather than simply an occasional activity.
Our training gives educators the confidence to deliver the lessons safely, effectively and engagingly, supported by our structured curriculum and online resources.
More Than Just Bushcraft
Our aim is not simply to teach children how to light a fire or build a shelter.
Bushcraft provides a fantastic platform for developing confidence, independence, teamwork, problem-solving, resilience and practical skills, while creating opportunities to learn in a completely different environment.
Children can learn by doing, exploring and experiencing — making connections between the natural world and what they learn in the classroom.
A Membership That Grows With Your Pupils
The Bushcraft School is designed around progression.
As pupils move through the years, their skills and understanding develop with them. Rather than repeating the same activities year after year, children can progress towards increasingly advanced bushcraft techniques and deeper outdoor knowledge.
This creates a genuine long-term learning journey, giving pupils something new to discover and achieve as they progress through school.
