Our weekend courses are open to first timers and experienced guests too. \n  \n\n\n\n\nWelcome to the Ultimate Bushcraft Weekend Experience!\n  \n  \nWhether you’re a seasoned outdoor enthusiast or stepping into the wild for the first time\, our Bushcraft Weekend is designed to immerse you in the beauty of nature and teach you essential survival skills in the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park\, close to the picturesque town of Grassington\, North Yorkshire. \n  \nYour Adventure Begins: Friday Evening \nArriving at 6pm on Friday\, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a roaring campfire\, setting the tone for an unforgettable weekend in the wild. Take a moment to tune into the peaceful surroundings and choose where you’ll sleep for the night. Bring along a small tent or hammock\, or\, if you’re up for a wilder experience\, get ready to build your own shelter on Saturday\, where you can spend a cozy night under the stars. \nOnce settled\, we’ll come together as a group to prepare a simple and delicious campfire meal\, sharing good food\, great conversation\, and the unmistakable atmosphere that only a firelit evening outdoors can bring. \n  \nSaturday: Learn\, Build\, Thrive \nSaturday kicks off with an introduction to the essential rules of survival\, where our expert instructors will share their knowledge of thriving in a woodland environment. You’ll delve into the art of shelter building\, master ancient fire-crafting techniques\, and develop wilderness cooking skills. As evening approaches\, we’ll journey to a nearby lake to fish for our dinner\, with vegetarian and vegan options thoughtfully provided. The night is spent around the campfire\, enjoying a hearty supper and relaxing beneath the canopy of the trees. \n  \nSunday: Relaxation & water filtration. \nA much slower paced morning\, after enjoying our campfire breakfast\, We’ll  look at different methods for collecting safe drinking water in the wild—an invaluable skill for any adventurer. Throughout the weekend\, you’ll learn a wide range of practical skills\, including fire lighting\, shelter building\, and campfire cookery — along with many other essential bushcraft techniques. \nYou may arrive as strangers\, but you’ll leave as friends\, bound by shared challenges\, laughter\, and the unforgettable experience of time spent around the fire. \n  \n \n  \n  \nSleeping under the stars\nOn the Bushcraft weekend you can choose to sleep under a Bushcraft tarp (Military style) in a hammock\, build your very own Bushcraft shelter or feel free to bring your own SMALL tent. If its your first time camping that’s amazing too\, our experienced guides will be on hand to help you every step of the way.  \n**Please don’t bring huge family tents\, we don’t have enough space. \n  \n \n  \nToilets & showers \nWe have an onsite toilet block which is around a 5 minute walk from the woodland. We have a solar shower installed in the trees for your comfort. For ease\, we always advise you to carry some baby wipes for your comfort. The toilet block is open 24hrs and has hot running water.  \n  \n \nFAQ’S\nI’m a Solo traveler\, can I attend?  Of course\, a lot of our attendees are solo travelers. It’s a great way to meet new people.  \n  \nI have a disability\, can I attend?  Of course\, our team will be on hand to make your experience as comfortable as possible. If you require accommodation locally\, our reservations team would be happy to organize this for you. Our support vehicle will be on hand for drop off and pick up at each workshop location. The terrain around basecamp is a little uneven\, but we do have some good access points.  \n  \nI have specific dietary needs\, is this going to be ok? Sure. Just let us know at the time of booking\, and we will make sure your are looked after.  \n  \nI have never done anything like this before do I need experience? Absolutely NOT. Everyone is welcome around the campfire. Its an opportunity to get together\, learn ew skills and enjoy reconnecting with the great outdoors. Our highly experienced staff will be on hand to guide you through\, every step of the way.  \n  \nOver 18’s only. All dietary needs can be catered for. Just let us know at the time of booking.\n  \n**Terms & conditions – Please read before you book. DEPOSIT – This is a NON refundable deposit. Remaining balance: payments are due 4 weeks before the start date of the event. If you cancel less than 4 weeks before the event\, your ticket is non refundable. Inclement weather: On the grounds of health & safety\, YDB reserves the right to cancel at short notice if bad extreme weather is forecasted. In the event of this happening\, guests would be given a credit note and the option to book on to the next course at a date that suits them.

You are welcome to sleep in a hammock and tarp system\, or\, for a more immersive experience\, you will have the opportunity to build your own shelter on Saturday and spend the night in a structure you have created yourself. \nSaturday: Learn\, Build\, and Thrive\nSaturday begins with an introduction to essential bushcraft principles and safety\, led by experienced instructors with a passion for outdoor education.
