DESCRIPTION:**As seen on Channel 5’s Five on the Farm Festival** \n  \n*** Personalized gift cards available *** \n  \nJoin us around the campfire for a magical day of Campfire baking.  We start our day with a hot chocolate and a welcome brief around the campfire. Our team of instructors and wilderness chefs will be on hand throughout the day to guide you through\, so don’t worry if you’re a newbie\, everyone is welcome here at Basecamp.   Under 18’s must be accompanied by a paying adult.  \n  \nHere is a rough plan for the day. \n  \n  \n1st session – Cinnamon and Apple rolls – A delicious snack all year round\, and one of my favorite’s.  In this session good fire management is key to success.  \n  \n  \n2nd Session – Campfire Pizza – In this session you will learn how to prepare and cook your very own pizza. A simple\, delicious classic\, a real treat on those family camping trips.  \n  \n  \n3rd Session – Afternoon cream tea – In this session you’ll be baking your very own campfire scones\, before it’s time to relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor.  Take some time to enjoy the forest and its surroundings.  \n  \n  \nSession 4 – Bake your own loaf – It’s time to get creative and really mix things up. You could bake a delicious plain loaf or add something a little more exciting to your dough. The choice is simply yours! Your delicious fresh loaf will be packaged up for you to take home and enjoy with the whole family.  \n  \n“The more knowledge you carry\, the less equipment you’ll need”  \n

All of the delicious campfire treats will be cooked using the Dutch oven\, directly over the hot coals of the campfire.  \n  \nYou can choose from our morning or afternoon session. As dinner cooks\, take a moment to tune into the peaceful surroundings and choose where you’ll sleep for the night. Bring along a small tent or hammock\, or\, if you’re up for a wilder experience\, get ready to build your own shelter on Saturday\, where you can spend a cozy night under the stars. \n  \nSaturday: Learn\, Build\, Thrive \nSaturday kicks off with an introduction to the essential rules of survival\, where our expert instructors will share their knowledge of thriving in a woodland environment. You’ll delve into the art of shelter building\, master ancient fire-crafting techniques\, and develop wilderness cooking skills. As evening approaches\, we’ll journey to a nearby lake to fish for our dinner\, with vegetarian and vegan options thoughtfully provided. The night is spent around the campfire\, enjoying a hearty supper and relaxing beneath the canopy of the trees. \n  \nSunday: Forage and Reflect \nAfter a hearty breakfast on Sunday\, we embark on a guided foraging walk to identify edible plants and learn sustainable foraging practices. We’ll also cover different methods for collecting safe drinking water in the wild—an invaluable skill for any adventurer. If its your first time camping that’s amazing too\, our experienced guides will be on hand to help you every step of the way.  \n**Please don’t bring huge family tents\, we don’t have enough space. \n  \n \n  \nToilets & showers \nWe have an onsite toilet block which is around a 6 minute walk from the woodland. We have a solar shower installed in the trees for your comfort. For ease\, we always advise you to carry some baby wipes for your comfort. The toilet block is open 24hrs and has hot running water.  \n  \n \nFAQ’S\nI’m a Solo traveler\, can I attend?  Of course\, a lot of our attendees are solo travelers. It’s a great way to meet new people.  \n  \nI have a disability\, can I attend?  Of course\, our team will be on hand to make your experience as comfortable as possible. If you require accommodation locally\, our reservations team would be happy to organize this for you. Our support vehicle will be on hand for drop off and pick up at each workshop location. The terrain around basecamp is a little uneven\, but we do have some good access points.  \n  \nI have specific dietary needs\, is this going to be ok? Sure. Just let us know at the time of booking\, and we will make sure your are looked after.  \n  \nI have never done anything like this before do I need experience? Absolutely NOT. Everyone is welcome around the campfire. Its an opportunity to get together\, learn ew skills and enjoy reconnecting with the great outdoors. Our highly experienced staff will be on hand to guide you through\, every step of the way.  \n  \nAll under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.  All dietary needs can be catered for. As dinner cooks\, take a moment to tune into the peaceful surroundings and choose where you’ll sleep for the night. Bring along a small tent or hammock\, or\, if you’re up for a wilder experience\, get ready to build your own shelter on Saturday\, where you can spend a cozy night under the stars. \n  \nSaturday: Learn\, Build\, Thrive \nSaturday kicks off with an introduction to the essential rules of survival\, where our expert instructors will share their knowledge of thriving in a woodland environment. You’ll delve into the art of shelter building\, master ancient fire-crafting techniques\, and develop wilderness cooking skills. As evening approaches\, we’ll journey to a nearby lake to fish for our dinner\, with vegetarian and vegan options thoughtfully provided. The night is spent around the campfire\, enjoying a hearty supper and relaxing beneath the canopy of the trees. \n  \nSunday: Forage and Reflect \nAfter a hearty breakfast on Sunday\, we embark on a guided foraging walk to identify edible plants and learn sustainable foraging practices. We’ll also cover different methods for collecting safe drinking water in the wild—an invaluable skill for any adventurer. If its your first time camping that’s amazing too\, our experienced guides will be on hand to help you every step of the way.  \n**Please don’t bring huge family tents\, we don’t have enough space. \n  \n \n  \nToilets & showers \nWe have an onsite toilet block which is around a 6 minute walk from the woodland. We have a solar shower installed in the trees for your comfort. For ease\, we always advise you to carry some baby wipes for your comfort. The toilet block is open 24hrs and has hot running water.  \n  \n \nFAQ’S\nI’m a Solo traveler\, can I attend?  Of course\, a lot of our attendees are solo travelers. It’s a great way to meet new people.  \n  \nI have a disability\, can I attend?  Of course\, our team will be on hand to make your experience as comfortable as possible. If you require accommodation locally\, our reservations team would be happy to organize this for you. Our support vehicle will be on hand for drop off and pick up at each workshop location. SUMMARY:Isle of Rum 2025 Expedition
DESCRIPTION:      \nYou don’t need any previous experience to join our expedition \n  \n        \n  \nFriday Morning Your journey begins in the charming port town of Mallaig\, about an hour west of Fort William. We’ll set sail just after lunch\, arriving on the island around 2:30 pm. Once ashore\, we’ll make our way to our wild camping site along the scenic shores of Loch Scresort. After setting up camp\, we’ll dive straight into the essentials\, connecting with our natural surroundings and learning the key skills that will guide us through our first night on Rum. \n  \nSaturday is packed with hands-on workshops\, where you’ll learn vital survival skills—from building shelters and making fires to cooking and baking in the wilderness. As the tide recedes\, we’ll head down to the golden sands to forage and fish.   In the evening\, choose to further explore the island’s rugged beauty\, join our health and wellbeing workshops or head off on an  evening fishing excursion to cap off an exciting day. \n  \nOn Sunday\, we’ll venture into the island’s village\, marveling at Rum’s stunning wildlife. With a bit of luck\, we may spot deer\, eagles\, sharks\, and even Minke whales! Back at camp\, we’ll refine our cooking techniques before heading to the Isle of Rum Bunkhouse\, where comfort awaits for our final night. We’ll celebrate together with a hearty dinner and drinks\, savoring the day’s experiences. \n  \nMonday brings a leisurely start as we check out and enjoy some free time and last moments exploring the island’s wild beauty. We’ll meet back at the ferry terminal around 3 pm for our journey home\, arriving in Mallaig by 7 pm\, carrying unforgettable memories of our coastal adventure. \n \n  \nTimings for your long weekend break\n\n11am Friday – 7pm Monday \nWe meet at the Port of Mallaig for 11am\, grab a coffee whilst we introduce ourselves and give you a welcome brief. The ship departs at 1250pm\, arriving on to Rum for around 230pm. On Monday\, we arrive back on the mainland for 7pm. Our highly experienced staff will be on hand to guide you every step of the way.  The Bushcraft team will arrive in the Mallaig area the night before. If you need any suggestions on places to stay the night before \, we are happy to help out. A stunning ocean side location\, which ends itself to being a perfect fishing location. . On Sunday night we will spend the evening in the Isle of Rum Bunkhouse\, where you will enjoy all mod cons you would expect from a bunkhouse.  \n  \n \n  \nWhat’s included\n\nReturn Ferry travel from Mallaig – Rum.\nAll food and drinks (Whilst on the Island) \nAccess to all Bushcraft workshops\nAccess to all fishing excursions\nAccess to all of our health and wellbeing workshops\n\n  \n   \n  \nTerms & Conditions: \n\nAll deposits are non-refundable.\nFull payment of any outstanding balance must be received no later than six weeks prior to expedition departure.\nBy booking this expedition\, you acknowledge that extreme weather conditions may result in a cancellation. Every year we have a number of guests who are experiencing camping for the first time.
