As dinner cooks\, take a moment to tune into the peaceful surroundings and choose where you’ll sleep for the night. Bring along a small tent or hammock\, or\, if you’re up for a wilder experience\, get ready to build your own shelter on Saturday\, where you can spend a cozy night under the stars. \n  \nSaturday: Learn\, Build\, Thrive \nSaturday kicks off with an introduction to the essential rules of survival\, where our expert instructors will share their knowledge of thriving in a woodland environment. You’ll delve into the art of shelter building\, master ancient fire-crafting techniques\, and develop wilderness cooking skills. As evening approaches\, we’ll journey to a nearby lake to fish for our dinner\, with vegetarian and vegan options thoughtfully provided. The night is spent around the campfire\, enjoying a hearty supper and relaxing beneath the canopy of the trees. \n  \nSunday: Relaxation & water filtration. \nA much slower paced morning\, after enjoying our campfire breakfast\, We’ll  look at different methods for collecting safe drinking water in the wild—an invaluable skill for any adventurer. If its your first time camping that’s amazing too\, our experienced guides will be on hand to help you every step of the way.  \n**Please don’t bring huge family tents\, we don’t have enough space. \n  \n \n  \nToilets & showers \nWe have an onsite toilet block which is around a 6 minute walk from the woodland. We have a solar shower installed in the trees for your comfort. For ease\, we always advise you to carry some baby wipes for your comfort. The toilet block is open 24hrs and has hot running water.  \n  \n \nFAQ’S\nI’m a Solo traveler\, can I attend?  Of course\, a lot of our attendees are solo travelers. It’s a great way to meet new people.  \n  \nI have a disability\, can I attend?  Of course\, our team will be on hand to make your experience as comfortable as possible. If you require accommodation locally\, our reservations team would be happy to organize this for you. Our support vehicle will be on hand for drop off and pick up at each workshop location. The terrain around basecamp is a little uneven\, but we do have some good access points.  \n  \nI have specific dietary needs\, is this going to be ok? Sure. Just let us know at the time of booking\, and we will make sure your are looked after.  \n  \nI have never done anything like this before do I need experience? Absolutely NOT. Everyone is welcome around the campfire. Its an opportunity to get together\, learn ew skills and enjoy reconnecting with the great outdoors. Our highly experienced staff will be on hand to guide you through\, every step of the way.  \n  \nUnder 18’s Must be accompanied by a an adult with a valid ticket. All dietary needs can be catered for. Just let us know at the time of booking.\n  \n**Terms & conditions – Please read before you book. DEPOSIT – This is a NON refundable deposit. Remaining balance: payments are due 4 weeks before the start date of the event. If you cancel less than 4 weeks before the event\, your ticket is non refundable. Take a moment to tune into the peaceful surroundings and choose where you’ll sleep for the night. Bring along a small tent or hammock\, or\, if you’re up for a wilder experience\, get ready to build your own shelter on Saturday\, where you can spend a cozy night under the stars. \nOnce settled\, we’ll come together as a group to prepare a simple and delicious campfire meal\, sharing good food\, great conversation\, and the unmistakable atmosphere that only a firelit evening outdoors can bring. \n  \nSaturday: Learn\, Build\, Thrive \nSaturday kicks off with an introduction to the essential rules of survival\, where our expert instructors will share their knowledge of thriving in a woodland environment. You’ll delve into the art of shelter building\, master ancient fire-crafting techniques\, and develop wilderness cooking skills. As evening approaches\, we’ll journey to a nearby lake to fish for our dinner\, with vegetarian and vegan options thoughtfully provided. The night is spent around the campfire\, enjoying a hearty supper and relaxing beneath the canopy of the trees. \n  \nSunday: Relaxation & water filtration. \nA much slower paced morning\, after enjoying our campfire breakfast\, We’ll  look at different methods for collecting safe drinking water in the wild—an invaluable skill for any adventurer. Throughout the weekend\, you’ll learn a wide range of practical skills\, including fire lighting\, shelter building\, and campfire cookery — along with many other essential bushcraft techniques. \nYou may arrive as strangers\, but you’ll leave as friends\, bound by shared challenges\, laughter\, and the unforgettable experience of time spent around the fire. \n  \n \n  \n  \nSleeping under the stars\nOn the Bushcraft weekend you can choose to sleep under a Bushcraft tarp (Military style) in a hammock\, build your very own Bushcraft shelter or feel free to bring your own SMALL tent. If its your first time camping that’s amazing too\, our experienced guides will be on hand to help you every step of the way.  \n**Please don’t bring huge family tents\, we don’t have enough space. \n  \n \n  \nToilets & showers \nWe have an onsite toilet block which is around a 5 minute walk from the woodland. We have a solar shower installed in the trees for your comfort. For ease\, we always advise you to carry some baby wipes for your comfort. The toilet block is open 24hrs and has hot running water.  \n  \n \nFAQ’S\nI’m a Solo traveler\, can I attend?  Of course\, a lot of our attendees are solo travelers. It’s a great way to meet new people.  \n  \nI have a disability\, can I attend?  Of course\, our team will be on hand to make your experience as comfortable as possible. If you require accommodation locally\, our reservations team would be happy to organize this for you. Our support vehicle will be on hand for drop off and pick up at each workshop location. The terrain around basecamp is a little uneven\, but we do have some good access points.  \n  \nI have specific dietary needs\, is this going to be ok? Sure. Just let us know at the time of booking\, and we will make sure your are looked after.  \n  \nI have never done anything like this before do I need experience? Absolutely NOT. Everyone is welcome around the campfire. Its an opportunity to get together\, learn ew skills and enjoy reconnecting with the great outdoors. Our highly experienced staff will be on hand to guide you through\, every step of the way.  \n  \nOver 18’s only. All dietary needs can be catered for. Just let us know at the time of booking.\n  \n**Terms & conditions – Please read before you book. DEPOSIT – This is a NON refundable deposit. Remaining balance: payments are due 4 weeks before the start date of the event. If you cancel less than 4 weeks before the event\, your ticket is non refundable. Inclement weather: On the grounds of health & safety\, YDB reserves the right to cancel at short notice if bad extreme weather is forecasted. In the event of this happening\, guests would be given a credit note and the option to book on to the next course at a date that suits them.

You are welcome to sleep in a hammock and tarp system\, or\, for a more immersive experience\, you will have the opportunity to build your own shelter on Saturday and spend the night in a structure you have created yourself. \nSaturday: Learn\, Build\, and Thrive\nSaturday begins with an introduction to essential bushcraft principles and safety\, led by experienced instructors with a passion for outdoor education. Whether you are stepping into the wild for the first time or looking to deepen your existing skills\, this weekend is designed to connect you with nature while teaching practical\, real-world bushcraft and survival techniques. \nYour Adventure Begins: Friday Evening\nArrival is from 6:00pm on Friday\, where you will be warmly welcomed by a roaring campfire and the inviting aroma of a freshly prepared campfire dinner\, setting the tone for a relaxed and memorable weekend. \nAfter settling in\, you can unwind\, take in the peaceful woodland surroundings\, and choose your sleeping setup. You are welcome to sleep in a hammock and tarp system\, or\, for a more immersive experience\, you will have the opportunity to build your own shelter on Saturday and spend the night in a structure you have created yourself. \nSaturday: Learn\, Build\, and Thrive\nSaturday begins with an introduction to essential bushcraft principles and safety\, led by experienced instructors with a passion for outdoor education. Throughout the day\, you will: \n  \n\n\nLearn shelter-building techniques (primitive and advanced) \n\n\nMaster traditional and modern fire craft skills \n\n\nDevelop wilderness cooking and baking techniques \n\n\nGain confidence living and working in a woodland environment \n\nGuided fishing\nWater filtration\n\nAs the day progresses\, we will venture to a nearby lake to fish for our evening meal (with vegetarian and vegan options thoughtfully provided). The evening is then spent around the campfire\, enjoying a hearty supper\, good company\, and the calming atmosphere of the woodland. \nSunday: Relaxation & Water Filtration\nSunday morning follows a slower\, more relaxed pace. Every decision you make will shape your experience\, just as it would in a real survival situation. \nSet deep in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales\, this isn’t simply a weekend away—it’s an unforgettable wilderness adventure that will challenge your resilience\, build your confidence\, and leave you with a deeper understanding and respect for the wild and remote places that still exist today. \nBe part of our next adventure….. \nFriday | Your adventure begins\nYour adventure begins with registration at 3:00 pm\, followed by an introduction to your instructors\, the camp\, and the challenges ahead. \nThe first afternoon and evening are dedicated to building the core foundations of wilderness survival. Through a series of carefully designed\, hands-on workshops\, you’ll develop the essential skills needed to understand your environment\, establish a safe and comfortable camp\, and prepare for the challenges ahead. \nGuided by experienced instructors\, you’ll gain practical knowledge and confidence as you learn the fundamental principles of bushcraft and survival. These skills will form the backbone of the weekend\, giving you everything you need to settle into your woodland surroundings before the challenge truly begins. \nDuring these practical sessions\, you’ll cover: \n\nFire making skills\nknots and line\nSafe tool use\nWater collection and filtration \nHammocks and tarp use\n\nYour first night under the stars\nYour first night under the stars will be spent in rainforest style shelters\, hammocks and tarp systems. Your team of experienced instructors will guide you through every step\, to ensure you have a comfortable first night. As darkness falls and we gather around the campfire\, you’ll learn how to craft simple fishing equipment in preparation for the following day’s challenge. \nSaturday – Survival mode.\nSaturday marks the point where the challenge truly begins. \nYour first objective is simple: make fire. \nYou’ll quickly discover that some of the equipment you relied on the previous day has disappeared. With only a handful of basic ingredients and limited cooking equipment\, your team must improvise\, adapt and overcome to prepare a hearty campfire breakfast. \nFrom this point onwards\, the weekend unfolds organically. Rather than following a rigid timetable\, you’ll use your newly acquired bushcraft skills whenever the situation demands them—just as you would in a genuine survival scenario. Working together\, you’ll follow the fundamental priorities of survival: maintaining fire\, sourcing and purifying water\, constructing a natural woodland shelter\, establishing your own camp\, and procuring food by fishing and other traditional wilderness methods. \nFor dinner \, you will need to source your own food\, by fishing at the near by lake.  \nEvery decision your team makes will influence the outcome of the challenge. Will you prioritise shelter before the weather changes? Focus on securing food? Or ensure your fire never goes out? The choice is yours\, and every decision counts. \n\n\n\nSunday | Reflection & Departure\nAfter preparing breakfast over the fire\, you’ll break camp using Leave No Trace principles before taking part in a final debrief with your instructors. \nWe’ll reflect on the weekend’s achievements\, discuss lessons learned\, answer any remaining questions\, and celebrate your success in completing the 45-Hour Survival Challenge. \nYou’ll leave with practical wilderness skills\, greater confidence\, unforgettable memories\, and a real appreciation for what it takes to survive with only the essentials. \n  \nWhat to Expect\nOver the course of the 45-Hour Survival Challenge\, you’ll immerse yourself in life in the wilderness\, sleeping two nights under the stars in shelters that you help create. \nEvery meal throughout the weekend will be prepared and cooked over an open campfire using traditional bushcraft techniques.
