DESCRIPTION:***A £99 Deposit secures your place today*** \nJoin our 2023 Coastal Survival Expedition on one of the most beautiful islands in the world. No experience necessary. This weekend is not a test of endurance\, it’s an opportunity for everyone to learn\, and practice essential coastal survival techniques. Rum is renowned for its sheer beauty and diverse collection of wildlife. From its resident Deer population to soaring eagles and the majestic Whales and sharks who roam the seas around this little Gem of an island. The Island is steeped in history and on our expedition we will see some of the oldest human settlements in Scotland.  \n  \nOur first 2 nights are spent under canvas (camping) along the shores of the Sea loch\, in the heart of the village.  On Sunday evening we are staying in the Rum bunk house\, with all the wonderful luxury’s you’d expect from a modern Bunkhouse.  \n  \nTimings for the weekend  \nWe meet in Mallaig for 11:00hrs on Friday. Our ship departs at 12:15pm. We arrive back on to the mainland on Monday at 650pm.  \n  \nOur experienced team will help you settle in to your new surrounding and will be on hand throughout the weekend to guide you through. No experience necessary. This weekend is not a test of endurance\, it’s an opportunity for everyone to learn\, and practice essential coastal survival techniques. Rum is renowned for its sheer beauty and diverse collection of wildlife. From its resident Deer population to soaring eagles and the majestic Whales and sharks who roam the seas around this little Gem of an island. The Island is steeped in history and on our expedition we will see some of the oldest human settlements in Scotland.  \nOur first 2 nights are spent under canvas (camping) along the shores of the Sea loch\, in the heart of the village.  On Sunday evening we are staying in the Rum bunk house\, with all the wonderful luxury’s you’d expect from a modern Bunkhouse.  \nTimings for the weekend \nWe meet in Mallaig for 11:00hrs on Friday. Our ship departs at 12:15pm. We arrive back on to the mainland on Monday at 650pm. Our experienced team will help you settle in to your new surrounding and will be on hand throughout the weekend to guide you through. We will immerse ourselves into the wilderness\, forage for our meals\, catch fish and crabs and learn how to live self sufficiently on the shores of the island. Unwind and relax in the heart of the stunning Yorkshire countryside. Gather around the campfire\, make new friends and tune in with the natural world. learn a whole range of essential Bushcraft skills. You don’t need any prior experience to attend our weekend course\, everyone is welcome\, even if its your first time camping\, don’t worry – Our highly experienced team will look after you every step of the way. This is not a test of endurance\, but a chance to get hands on experience –  you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much we cover in our weekend course.  Throughout the weekend you will learn how to build shelter\, make fire using primitive methods\, prepare and cook Fish or Game\, learn lake fishing skills\, learn how to bake and cook on the campfire\, and so much more.  \n  \nWhat’s included?  \n\nAll meals – Breakfast\, lunch and dinner\nDrinks – Tea\, coffee and soft drinks are available throughout the weekend\nSnacks – Biscuits and sweet treats\nWorkshops – Please see our list of workshops below. \nOn site – Secure parking \n\n  \nA list of workshops included in your weekend. \n\nPrimitive and advanced Firecraft skills\nNavigation and Orientation: Using natural signs\, maps\, and basic navigation tools (like a compass) to find directions and navigate through unfamiliar terrain.\nBasic foraging skills\nWilderness Baking – Breads and sweet treats \nWilderness cookery – Fish or Game\nShelter making – Advanced and primitive shelter making skills. \nWoodland crafting – Useful tools\, knot tying etc. \nGuided health and wellbeing – Meditation\, forest bathing\, mind fullness \n\n  \nOver 18’s only. All dietary needs can be catered for. Just let us know at the time of booking. \n  \nFAQ’S\nI’m a Solo traveler\, can I attend?  Of course\, a lot of our attendees are solo travelers. It’s a great way to meet new people.  \nI have a disability\, can I attend?  Of course\, our team will be on hand to make your experience as comfortable as possible. If you require accommodation locally\, our reservations team would be happy to organize this for you. Our support vehicle will be on hand for drop off and pick up at each workshop location. The terrain around basecamp is a little uneven\, but we do have some good access points.  \nI have specific dietary needs\, is this going to be ok? Sure. Just let us know at the time of booking\, and we will make sure your are looked after.  \nI have never done anything like this before do I need experience? Absolutely NOT. Everyone is welcome around the campfire. Its an opportunity to get together\, learn ew skills and enjoy reconnecting with the great outdoors.
