Our team of instructors and wilderness chefs will be on hand throughout the day to guide you through\, so don’t worry if you’re a newbie\, everyone is welcome here at Basecamp.   Under 18’s must be accompanied by a paying adult.  \n  \nHere is a rough plan for the day. \n  \n  \n1st session – Cinnamon and Apple rolls – A delicious snack all year round\, and one of my favorite’s.  In this session good fire management is key to success.  \n  \n  \n2nd Session – Campfire Pizza – In this session you will learn how to prepare and cook your very own pizza. A simple\, delicious classic\, a real treat on those family camping trips.  \n  \n  \n3rd Session – Afternoon cream tea – In this session you’ll be baking your very own campfire scones\, before it’s time to relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor.  Take some time to enjoy the forest and its surroundings.  \n  \n  \nSession 4 – Bake your own loaf – It’s time to get creative and really mix things up. You could bake a delicious plain loaf or add something a little more exciting to your dough. The choice is simply yours! No experience necessary. This weekend is not a test of endurance\, it’s an opportunity for everyone to learn\, and practice essential coastal survival techniques. Rum is renowned for its sheer beauty and diverse collection of wildlife. From its resident Deer population to soaring eagles and the majestic Whales and sharks who roam the seas around this little Gem of an island. The Island is steeped in history and on our expedition we will see some of the oldest human settlements in Scotland.  \nOur first 2 nights are spent under canvas (camping) along the shores of the Sea loch\, in the heart of the village.  On Sunday evening we are staying in the Rum bunk house\, with all the wonderful luxury’s you’d expect from a modern Bunkhouse.  \nTimings for the weekend \nWe meet in Mallaig for 11:00hrs on Friday. Our ship departs at 12:15pm. We arrive back on to the mainland on Monday at 650pm. Our experienced team will help you settle in to your new surrounding and will be on hand throughout the weekend to guide you through. We will immerse ourselves into the wilderness\, forage for our meals\, catch fish and crabs and learn how to live self sufficiently on the shores of the island. A simple\, delicious classic\, a real treat on those family camping trips.  \n  \n  \n3rd Session – Afternoon cream tea – In this session you’ll be baking your very own campfire scones\, before it’s time to relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor.  Take some time to enjoy the forest and its surroundings.  \n  \n  \nSession 4 – Bake your own loaf – It’s time to get creative and really mix things up. Do you have what it takes to spark a flame like our Stone Age ancestors \nCampfire Cooking: Get hands-on with outdoor cooking as you prepare and bake your very own delicious campfire pizzas! \nBushtucker Challenge: Dare to expand your taste buds? Sample a variety of edible bugs in this ultimate test of courage! \n  \nWe have 2 sessions running throughout the day for you to choose from\n\n10am – 1pm \n130pm – 430pm\n\nWhat’s included\nAll workshops listed above\, free parking and campfire-cooked pizza lunch\, along with refreshing drinks and marshmallows to toast over the fire.
