No experience necessary. This weekend is not a test of endurance\, it’s an opportunity for everyone to learn\, and practice essential coastal survival techniques. Rum is renowned for its sheer beauty and diverse collection of wildlife. From its resident Deer population to soaring eagles and the majestic Whales and sharks who roam the seas around this little Gem of an island. The Island is steeped in history and on our expedition we will see some of the oldest human settlements in Scotland.  \nOur first 2 nights are spent under canvas (camping) along the shores of the Sea loch\, in the heart of the village.  On Sunday evening we are staying in the Rum bunk house\, with all the wonderful luxury’s you’d expect from a modern Bunkhouse.  \nTimings for the weekend \nWe meet in Mallaig for 11:00hrs on Friday. Our ship departs at 12:15pm. We arrive back on to the mainland on Monday at 650pm. Our experienced team will help you settle in to your new surrounding and will be on hand throughout the weekend to guide you through. We will immerse ourselves into the wilderness\, forage for our meals\, catch fish and crabs and learn how to live self sufficiently on the shores of the island. This weekend is open to absolute beginners. Throughout the weekend we will cover the following workshops; \n  \nBushcraft Workshops\n\nShelter making\nCoastal foraging \nWilderness cookery skills \nFreshwater and seawater fishing Skills \nCampfire bakery \nFire making skills \nGuided Wildlife and foraging walks \nKnots\, knife skills and water purification\nMap reading skills\nHealth and well-being workshops\nNatural product making workshops\nGuided meditation and mindfulness\n\n  \nKit List \n\nSleeping bag\nTent\nSleeping mat\nWarm and waterproof clothing\nGood sturdy footwear. Every year we have a number of guests who are experiencing camping for the first time.
